Inn Policies
Please read carefully. We have given great consideration to our Reservation & Cancellation Policies. They are an important part of running a small inn & enable us to maintain business while we are preserving our house, a piece of New Orleans history.
CHILDREN & PETS
Children under 12 and pets would be happier in a more conventional environment. Please let us know if you need help with local pet boarding options.
SMOKING
We are a non-smoking property. Smoking is NOT permitted in rooms, interior spaces, balconies or porches. Smoking is permitted outside of the gate.
DISCOUNTS
The Grand Victorian is happy to offer government and military rates for personal traveling on military business, upon request and with proper ID.
AAA discounts are applied to the base rate.
RESERVATIONS
To secure your reservation, we do require a 1-night non-refundable deposit.
Every booking requires a 2 night minimum stay. If you need a shorter stay, please call or email us. We will be happy to check availability.
Special events, of course, may require a longer minimum stay.
Our guest rooms are for single or double occupancy only. Rollaway beds /air mattresses are not available and may not be added to our guest rooms. The occupancy count for each room is the total number of guests allowed to stay in that room.
For the safety & privacy of all of our guests, only registered guests will be allowed in guest rooms & in the common areas. Visitors without a reservation (bridesmaids, photographers, make up artists, etc) are not allowed access to the inn without prior approval by the innkeeper. Especially for Mardi Gras & other special events.
CHECK-IN / CHECK-OUT
Check in 3pm -5:30pm
Let us know if you will be arriving after 5:30pm, and we will prepare a check in packet for you. You will need a special code for the entry door, so be sure to let us know about your arrival if it’s after 5:30pm.
We try our best to accommodate your check in, however, if you require access to your room before 3pm, please reserve it for the night before to guarantee its availability.
Check Out time is 11 am.
Late check-outs without prior approval will result in a $25 fee for every half hour after 11 am.
CANCELLATIONS
To secure your reservation, we require a 1 night non-refundable deposit.
At 14 days prior to your arrival, the remaining balance of your stay will be charged to the credit card on file.
For special events, 60 days prior to your arrival the remaining balance of your stay will be charged to your credit card on file.
Special events include but are not limited to: Mardi Gras, Jazzfest, Super Bowl, Tulane/ Loyola Graduations and other special university events, Final Four, Essence Fest, French Quarter Fest, concerts and some conventions.
To avoid any confusion, we do require requests for changes or cancellations to be sent in writing to info@gvbb.com. Changes & cancellation requests can not be taken over the phone.
Early departures are considered a cancellation.
No-Shows: The full amount of your stay will be charged and the deposit forfeited.
We do understand that life creates unexpected situations, we strongly suggest that you purchase trip insurance if you are concerned about any situation that may create a late cancellation ( flight delays, bad weather, illness or death in the family)
We do thank you for direct bookings with the Grand Victorian. If you book through an online travel partner, 100% of your payment for your stay will be charged at the time your reservation is made. Cancellation, for all online travel partner bookings, is 30 days notice prior to your arrival date. Cancellations with less than 30 days, are non-refundable.
We have a unique experience at the Grand Victorian, and because of the size of our inn, we do not host groups or events.
OCCUPANCY RATES and ACCESS TO PREMISES
You must indicate the number of guests in your reservation. For reservations with more than 2 guests, including children, additional fees of $25-75 (depending on date) per person per night apply and will be charged to the credit card on file.
We reserve the right to cancel your reservation if there are more guests than we can accommodate at any time, which will result in forfeiting the entire booking funds.
For the safety and privacy of all of our guests, during Mardi Gras and ALL other events, visitors without a reservation are not allowed access to the house without prior approval from the innkeeper.
Accessibility
Grand Victorian Bed and Breakfast warmly welcome all guests. The inn has been lovingly restored with all guests in mind. We welcome you to a majestic past with modern conveniences to ensure you have an exceptional New Orleans stay.
Accessible Accommodation
The Oak Alley Room of the Grand Victorian is handicapped accessible and fully compliant with the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA). Located off of the dining room on the first floor, this spacious and light-filled room offers wider doorways that provide un-obstructive maneuverability for wheelchair access, a lower queen size bed, and a private bath featuring a hand-held shower head, handrails, and roll under sink.
The entrance to the inn includes a wheelchair ramp for navigation into the inn so all guests can enjoy our Victorian parlor, dining room, and the porte cochere balcony.
Because we are located in a residential neighborhood on a corner lot, there is ample on-street parking. There are 3 spaces directly in front of the house on St. Charles Avenue and 4 along the side of the house on Washington Avenue.
Please notify us at 504-450-8524 in advance that you need wheelchair accessibility or require other items and we will take extra care to ensure you have a comfortable arrival and enjoyable stay!
ADA COMPLIANCE
We work to ensure every guest who wishes to visit can do so regardless of their physical abilities. Among the ways we comply with ADA:
- We ensure that individuals with disabilities can make reservations during the same hours and in the same manner as individuals without disabilities.
- We have identified and described accessible features in our bed and breakfast and guest rooms in detail to allow individuals with disabilities to determine whether our B&B meets their needs.
- We ensure that accessible guest rooms are held for use by individuals with disabilities until all other guest rooms of that type have been rented.
- We guarantee that the specific accessible guest rooms, once reserved, are held for the reserving customer. We make reasonable efforts with third-party reservation systems to make accessible rooms available through at least some of these services and they must provide these third-party services with information concerning the accessible features of the hotel and the accessible rooms.
- Guests with legitimate service animals as defined in the ADA will be provided access to all areas of the inn afforded to those without service animals.

INFORMATION COLLECTION
Our main purpose in collecting your personal information is to provide you with a streamlined experience in making reservations at Grand Victorian Bed & Breakfast. We only collect information about you that we consider necessary for achieving this. Personally identifiable information is only obtained when making a reservation.
We sometimes use data collection devices such as “cookies” on certain pages of the Site to measure effectiveness and safety. A “cookie” is a small file that gets placed on your hard drive that helps us provide our services. You are free to decline cookies if you choose too.
SECURITY
At Grand Victorian Bed & Breakfast, we take security seriously. When users make a reservation we use every precaution to safe guard it online and offline.
Your payment and personal information is always safe. Our Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) software is the industry standard and encrypts all of your personal information, including credit card number, name, and address, so that it cannot be read over the Internet.

Grand Victorian Bed & Breakfast may amend this Privacy Statement from time to time in order to meet changes in the regulatory environment, business needs, or to satisfy the needs of our guests, properties, strategic marketing partners, and service providers.
