The buzz about March Madness may have subsided, but New Orleans is now bustling about the annual Zurich Classic. Hosted at the TPC Lousiana Course, the tournament brings in some of the best golfers on tour. This year alone, three of the top ten players in the World Golf Ranking have committed to play at Zurich Classic. Prominent players include Graerne McDowell (5), Steve Stricker (8), Luke Donald (9) along with Jason Bohn and Jhonny Vegas.
The tour was first played at City Park Golf Course in 1938. Although it is now held at TPC, it has also been hosted at other courses throughout the city, including Lakewood Country Club and English Turn Gold and Country Club. The tournament is proud to boast that over the last five years, more than $6.5 million has been raised for the Fore!Kids Foundation, which helps local children in need. With Masters on the mind and the golf season in full swing, there isn’t a better tour to be a spectator of while experiencing the Big Easy.
